Van Dyck in vendita
Fourth copy know as “Rest on the Flight to Egypt”.
Paint made by the Master for the brother Theodore.
The Scottish scholar Robin Blake tell us about one paint mentioned, in the old inventory of Canon Theodore Van Dyck –
Waltmann’s possession, as “Rest on the flight into Egypt”.
After that we loose the trace of the paint was cataloged as “property Van Dyck”.

This paint become property of my family after the Lateran agreement between Italy and the Vatican in the 1929.
The Vatican loose many property in favor to Italy in exchange of the recognize of the ambassador.
Above this property was also the Villa Celimontana which contain, as furniture , many important piece.
Above this property also my paint.
Few years before My family gave beak to the Vatican the church of Sant Alvise , in Venice.
My ancestor gave beak the church because it need to be restore at a cost impossible to be sobstain by a private.
The church of Sant Alvise was for century the burial chapel of my family.
The last of the family to be buried in Sant Alvise have bin an aunt of my in the mid seventy.
The Vatican in the occasion of the agreement in Lateran of the 1929 remember this fact and gave the paint in exchange.
Now I decide to sell the paint on auction in Internet.
